Joan's Hand Applique

Joan made these blocks many years ago and finally finished them. She wanted something in the green blocks so I did some ruler work in them.

Close up of the background fill.

I am not sure you can see the ruler work detail in these pictures or not.

Here is the center block.

Shelley's Circular Southwestern Table Topper

***UPDATE Shelley's Hopi Sun took 1st Place in its division at the Desert Lilies Annual Quilt Show! Congrats Shelley!
Everyone Loved It!

I just love this quilt! Shelley trusted me to quilt her lovely creation!
The colors are so wonderful! This could certainly go in my home. Shelly had a tear in her eye when she saw this, she was so happy! That gave me a bit of a tear too. So glad these ladies like what I do for them!

Here is some details of the quilting.

Here is the back of the quilt.

The center of the quilt, squiggly lines. Looks like a sun burst.

Lake Havasu Ladies

The Lake Havasu ladies brought five of these sampler quilts for custom quilting. All the ladies did a great job piecing these. Below are a few picture of the different blocks. Thanks Lake Havasu girls for trusting me to quilt your samplers!

Mabel goes Oriental

Mabel made this quilt for her sister. She designs her own quilts and does not follow a pattern.
Mabel used some fantastic fabrics.

I of course love the way the quilting looks on the back.
Oh just more pictures of the back.

Crayon Embroidery

This quilt was hand embroidered and colored in with crayons. I really miss my hanging system in my old studio, I could get better pictures of the whole quilt. Sorry for the messy picture. But isn't this quilt wonderful? My customer did a fantastic job with the all the hand work and coloring!

So much beauty in one setting.

Anne's Art Quilt

Anne made this fantastic art quilt and I had the great privilege to quilt it for her! I love the black background fabric, the white waving lines were there already.

Here is a picture of the back showing what I quilted in her circles.

Close up of back.

This black fabric is fabulous with the white dots, I would like a piece of that fabric!

"Life is a Stage I'm going Through"

My newest little "Art Quilt"
I will be teaching this at my quilt guild Desert Lily's in October. I look forward to showing the ladies some fun techniques like free form curved piecing, couching with yarn ( saguaro cactus is sporting that), yarn binding, working with 3D objects ( found junk on one of my walks), Shiva paint sticks ( funky little bird and semi hidden lizard behind the sticks, cause that is how they roll), foil and glitter too. So we should have a high old time creating this fun little piece.
Here is close up of the lizard hiding behind the sticks and some junk I found alone the way. You know it's unfortunate that trash is in the desert, but art does imitate life after all, so the junk stays.
The Agave plant, yes it's felted wool and rocks from a walk.

Funky little bird from the paint sticks (scrapbooking stuff) and my sign, yes we all have a sign. Oh and the hanger, it's from an old barrel I once displayed in my yard in Montana. Yep I dragged it to Arizona and used it! Winning!
